SLS Audio Systems Utilized on Multiple Stages at 2010 NAMM Show

SLS Audio is proud to announce that they were once again requested to provide their cutting edge, Ribbon Driver technology speaker systems for various high profile events during this years NAMM show at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

For the fourth year in a row NAMM requested that an SLS speaker system be used in the heavily trafficked outdoor courtyard stage between halls B and C.  This stage featured non-stop performances throughout this year’s show and reinforced the talents of a variety of entertainers including Jason Adamo, Dean Grech , Cortez the Killer, Pretzel Logic, Bones West and Scott Law.

The courtyard is an extremely difficult venue with its solid concrete walls and overhangs, however the SLS PLS8695 column Line Arrays are perfectly suited for such challenging environments.

“The predictable pattern and coverage of the SLS Ribbon Line Arrays makes this seemingly impossible acoustic environment much easier to manage than conventional compression driver equipped speaker systems.  With some quick calculations, the PLS8695’s were easy to aim thereby achieving a nice focus on the audience rather than having to deal with the normal slap back problems inherent in conventional designs”, said Mike Bell president of Bell Event Services of El Segundo CA. Bell is a long time believer in the SLS Planar Ribon technology and regularly uses a variety of SLS cabinets in their Southern California sound production and rental business.

In addition to the NAMM Courtyard, SLS Audio’s Line Arrays were selected for the third year in a row to be used as the Front of House Audio and Stage Monitor speaker systems for the industry giant Taylor Guitars. Taylor employed a full sound stage in their ballroom sized demo room which featured performances by such music greats as; Night Ranger, Doyle Dykes, Love And Theft,  Damn Yankees, Mana, Jason Mraz and Steven Curtis Chapman.

For the Taylor display, intelligibility and accuracy in the sound system is pivotal in not only demonstrating the quality of their instruments but showcasing the talent of their many well known artists. “We bring in the BEST PA system possible as well as producers and engineer’s from Nashville, so everything sounds like a giant set of headphones in here,” said Brian Swerdferger VP of Marketing for Taylor Guitars. The system included (12) SLS LS8800 Line Array modules and several 118EL Subwoofers along with SLS’ 112RM’s for stage monitors.

SLS displayed many of their key products in their booth including the new SP810 Dual 18” Subwoofer that features integrated casters, skid plates, pole socket and support bracketry for one or two LS8695’s column line arrays enabling down angle adjustment for the entire ground stacked line array system.

“The NAMM Show has continued to place us in the eyes of some of the largest International distributors in this industry as well as many of our domestic US dealers ” said John Gott President of SLS Audio. “We are especially pleased to be repetitively trusted by both NAMM and Taylor Guitars to be the voice of such great organizations and great performers.”
